I run my own bicycle-powered, low-waste and neighborhood-oriented business.  This is how I make my living.  See my general services list below and get in touch if you live in the area and need something done.

  • Window sash repair.
  • I specialize in restoring the functionality double-hung, counter-weighted sash windows, like the kind that are common in homes built before the 1950s.  I charge $50 per window — much more affordable than installing new windows.  This service is also less wasteful and more practical than installing sash spring kits or other more modern mechanisms to existing windows.  I can also replace glass.  Get in touch on Thumbtack or by email for a quote.

  • Interior molding installation.
  • I can install new or salvaged trim around windows, doors, baseboards or ceilings.  Email me for a quote and include the linear footage.

  • Native landscaping.
  • Over the last few years, I’ve been independently studying ecology and philosophical anthropology.  I’m a graduate of the Minnesota Master Naturalist program and I do volunteer work in state or regional park landscape stewardship projects.  I will negotiate very competitive, affordable rates to work on residential landscaping projects that have a strong ecological purpose and are conservation or restoration oriented.  What I’m most interested in is converting weedy patches or turf/lawn areas to pre-settlement, native vegetation communities.  By their very nature, native landscapes are low-maintenance once established, promote the habitat of native birds and other wildlife and reduce water pollution.  If you have a troublesome area in your yard or would just like to “go native” with your garden, I will work with your budget

  • Subcontracting.
  • I will work hourly under licensed contractors in the following fields: residential interior remodeling, painting, flooring, framing, finish carpentry, landscaping/gardening and rental property maintenance.  My rate is $15 an hour.
